Week 3: Software

My entrepreneurial idea is to create a system in which a person’s entire wardrobe is in their computer and by clicking options including the weather for the day, the type of occasion you are dressing for (class, party, hanging out with friends, etc) and mood, the system picks out an outfit for you based on what you click. In last week’s class we spoke about software, computer language, and algorithms. The system that would be used in my idea is considered a software being that it is used on the computer.
A software program is considered a collection of algorithms to solve a problem. This software needs procedures, or algorithms, in order to manage the items of clothing as well as the options one should click. Also, it needs an algorithm for what item of clothing goes with what option.
This system is considered an applications software. It performs the task for the person trying to pick out their outfit. This is a personal and productivity type of application software.
